Brashard Smith ran for 127 yards and three touchdowns and had a touchdown catch, but it was SMU's defense that held the Broncos to a 66-42 victory in Dallas on Saturday TCU played a role in the game.

The Broncos (3-1) scored two defensive touchdowns and returned a punt for a touchdown to snap a two-game losing streak against their Dallas-Fort Worth Met rivals. Kevin Jennings passed for 137 yards and two scores for SMU.

TCU coach Sonny Dykes, who coached SMU from 2017-21, did not appear in the finale. After the third quarter kickoff, he was ejected for multiple unsportsmanlike penalties, the first time a coach has been ejected since 2021. Dykes was frustrated after Jordyn Bailey's 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was canceled due to a holding penalty.

TCU's Josh Hoover passed for 381 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions and two fumbles. Jack Bech had eight catches for 166 yards and two scores, while Eric McAlister had six catches for 114 yards and two scores for the Horned Frogs (2-2) touchdown.

Collin Rogers made three field goals, SMU's first and final points of the first half, of 51 and 49 yards, and a 45-yarder in the third quarter.

The Broncos' Brandon Crossley caught a Hoover fumble at midfield and sprinted 51 yards for a touchdown at 7:02 of the first quarter. Later in the quarter, Roderick Daniels Jr. rushed 69 yards and scored on a punt return.

The Horned Frogs scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Hoover and a 7-yard run by Cam Cook, who tied the game with 11:24 left in the second quarter. SMU responded with a 25-yard touchdown run by Smith, but TCU answered back with a 19-yard pass from Hoover to McAllister.

The Broncos scored 17 points in the final 1:28 of the first half to take control of the game. First, Jordan Hudson caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jennings. Then Ahmed Moses intercepted Hoover's pass and turned it into a 60-yard pick-six.

After Dykes was ejected, TCU caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Hoover to Bech on the possession. Smith responded with a 24-yard score from Jennings and a 1-yard touchdown break after Hoover fumbled again.

With 12 minutes and 15 seconds left in the game, Hoover connected with Bech and completed a 15-yard touchdown pass. Smith countered with a 1-yard touchdown run at 8:23, then backup TCU quarterback Ken Seals hit Bailey with a 6-yard pass to end the scoring.
