It’s finally the day of Logan Roy’s funeral (which is the focus of the penultimate episode) succession), a solemn occasion surrounded by chaos in his name. Would Logan want to see America on the brink of exploding after a doomed and highly contentious election night? So when the opening moments of “Church and State” show Roman swaggering in preparation for his eulogy, there’s an obvious reversal, but only after everyone arrives at the church where Logan’s service will be held — Rather than such a simple proposal, because the “people” really took to the streets to protest the election results. (Shiv is trying to get Matsson to release his India data question under the smokescreen of election chaos; he doesn’t seem convinced that will be enough.
