GAM Esports victorious in opening match of World Championship

GAM Esports swept the Fukuoka Hawks 2-0 in the first game of the League of Legends World Championship Qualifiers in Berlin, Germany on Thursday.

GAM Esports took on Rainbow7 in Friday's qualifying round with a 28-minute victory for the blue team and a 27-minute victory for the red team. The winner of this race will advance to the Swiss stage from October 3rd to 13th.

GAM Esports is led by Do Duy “Levi” Shyvana and Tran Duy “Kiaya” Sang. Levi contributed 8/1/7 kill-to-death-to-assist ratio in the first map, while Kiaya contributed 10/2/6 in the second map.

On Thursday, Rainbow7 overcame their first game mistakes to beat 100 Thieves 2-1.

Fukuoka HAWKS Gaming and 100 Thieves will play in the elimination round on Saturday.

All play-in matches played on Sunday are best-of-three. Eight teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament, with the top four advancing to the Swiss stage.
