Analyst Reveals What Caleb Williams Needs To Work On

Although it has only been three weeks, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the 1-2 Chicago Bears are off to a tough start, especially on offense.

The former Heisman winner in Williams has a passer rating of just 65.3 and a completion percentage under 60%.

He has thrown four interceptions compared to just two touchdowns, and the Bears currently rank 30th in total offense.

NFL analyst Greg Cosell recently joined the Ross Tucker Podcast to talk about what he thinks Williams needs to improve upon as a young player.

“You can tell that he’s not really comfortable from the pocket, overall, and he’s not really sure what he sees right now,” Cosell stated Friday.

Cosell also noted that these struggles are common for rookie quarterbacks.

However, this isn’t exactly USC where Williams can put up 50+ points blindfolded and expect to win games.

Scoring points in the NFL is difficult, especially when a rookie signal-caller is pairing up with a new offensive coordinator.

The Bears decided to hire Shane Waldron as their offensive coordinator, who helped turn Geno Smith into somewhat of a franchise quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.

However, they could have hired one of Williams’s former college head coaches in Kliff Kingsbury, who is now making magic happen as the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders.

Williams and Waldron have got to find a way to put together some productive offensive performances, especially considering this franchise and this fan base are starving for a winner.

If not and if the team continues to slide, it could get very hot on the outside.
