Colin Cowherd Says 1 NFL Team’s Future Isn’t Bright

The worst place to be in the NFL — and in all sports for that matter — is stuck in the middle toiling in mediocrity with little chance to win a championship while also being too good to bottom out and fully rebuild.

FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd feels this way about one storied NFL franchise despite the number of strong pieces it has on the roster: the Dallas Cowboys.

“I don’t think Dallas’ future is bright,” Cowher said, via The Volume.

Cowherd pointed out how more than 40 percent of Dak Prescott’s wins have come against the New York Giants and Washington Commanders, including the most recent against the Giants on “Thursday Night Football.”

He added that there are a lot of good pieces on the Giants now, so the days of “getting fat” by eating up wins over Washington and New York twice a year in the NFC East could soon come to an end.

He went on to say that Dallas simply has a lot of big contracts and “one great player in CeeDee Lamb.”

Clearly, Cowherd was not impressed with the 20-15 victory against the Giants to open Week 4, a game that saw star defenders Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence suffer injuries.

The Giants didn’t win, but they did look competent and much improved from last season, largely due to the addition of rookie sensation Malik Nabers at wide receiver, while the Commanders have been rejuvenated by an entirely new coaching staff and No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels at QB.

Dallas needs to simply keep winning and try to drown out the noise because it will always be there given the team’s high profile.
