Entering the 2024 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins were considered among the Super Bowl contenders in the AFC, but they find themselves struggling and dealing with major injuries entering Week 4.
After winning their first game, the Dolphins have dropped their past two, and that’s largely due to their quarterback issues.
Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in the Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.
Skylar Thompson took over for Tagovailoa and started the Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he is also now out after suffering a rib injury in that game.
Miami head coach Mike McDaniel named Tyler Huntley as the team’s starter for Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans and offered his expectations for the veteran.
“Everybody knows that he can run. I think everybody knows that he can pass. He does a good job at both. So, I’m expecting him to go out and be one-eleventh of the formula,” McDaniel said, via Around the NFL.

McDaniel is wise to not place too much burden and responsibility on Huntley, who was signed off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad and brought up to the Dolphins’ 53-man roster.
Huntley has shown he is a solid dual-threat quarterback who can keep plays alive, and that might be just what Miami needs to pull out a much-needed win.
The Titans have struggled this season as well, so the “Monday Night Football” matchup is a good bounce-back spot for the Dolphins.
