Jaguars Place Key Defensive Player On IR

After an offseason spent trying to improve the roster, the Jacksonville Jaguars find themselves winless through three weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

The Jaguars were hopeful they could get back to the postseason after making some meaningful additions on both sides of the football, but at 0-3 it seems like those playoff dreams are already obsolete.

Jacksonville has been a mess in every phase of the game, but its defense has been particularly disappointing as it has struggled both on the ground and through the air.

In Week 3, the Jaguars got thrashed by the Buffalo Bills, giving up 47 points in a game that got out of hand in the first quarter.

They had no answers for Bills QB Josh Allen, who looked like he could get a first down whenever he wanted, and now the Jaguars must play the explosive Houston Texans in Week 4.

That AFC South game could end up being another scoring feast as the Jaguars will be without standout linebacker Foyesade Oluokun, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

“Jaguars placed LB Foye Oluokun on injured reserve. He will miss at least the next four games. Oluokun is one of Jaguars best players and center of that defense — he will be missed,” Wolfe wrote on X.

Oluokun is dealing with plantar fasciitis and his extended absence is a huge blow to the Jacksonville defense.

He has been one of the lone bright spots because of his versatility in the middle of the field, and now the Jaguars must find a way to get stops without him.
