NFL Not Prioritizing Quality Over Quantity on Monday Nights

For the second week in a row, we'll be watching a double slate of NFL football games on Monday night.

This time around, the Dolphins and Lions will take the spotlight, as Miami takes on the Tennessee Titans and Detroit prepares to take on the Seattle Seahawks.

While an extra game could ultimately provide a remedy for Monday's situation, if scheduling four prime-time games per week becomes the norm, we're going to have to get used to the bottom team taking center stage.

If you think that's not the case, make sure you're in front of your TV Monday night at 7:30 pm ET.

That's when the 0-3 Titans and 1-2 Dolphins will collide. With Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve (concussion), Miami has lost nearly all of its energy throughout the offseason, and it should have been obvious that Tennessee shouldn't be in front of millions of viewers. Contest.

Let's just hope the Seattle-Detroit game cleanses our taste buds.

In a perfect world, two more games on Monday after “Thursday Night Football” and “Sunday Night Football” would satisfy everyone. But when you factor in schedule variety and bye weeks, there simply aren't enough talented teams in the league to make it worthwhile. Having to watch two non-contenders play against each other can get tiresome very quickly.

More NFL football games outside of Sunday always seem to get fans excited, but when they were forced to watch Tennessee's Will Levis and Miami's Tyler Huntley on Monday How much noise do they make when centers are facing off?

We're guessing most living rooms across the country will be pretty quiet.

Fans also have to keep in mind the impact Monday's two games could have on fantasy football.

Look, the league and numerous players have made it very clear that they don't care if your parlay is successful or if you beat your annoying brother-in-law in your family's fantasy football league. There will never be a day when the NFL starts catering to the needs of fantasy football managers, and moving more games out of the Sunday timeslot will only make it harder for teams to build their rosters.

We've already seen one tragedy happen this season because of Monday's game.

As the 49ers and New York Jets plan to close out Week 1, there's little indication that San Francisco star running back Christian McCaffrey won't suit up. He was listed as questionable due to a calf injury, but told reporters he had no doubts about his playing time.

So, about Niners rule out McCaffrey 90 minutes before kickoff. He has yet to play this season.

Part of me hates being that person who says, “Hey, don't schedule multiple games on Monday nights so those who play fantasy football don't have a higher chance of getting screwed,” but if the league actually cares about its The product — and its fans — must know how important fantasy football has become over the past decade.

I mean, the NFL certainly has no problem partnering with sports betting, so why did it take so long to realize that fans want the best for their fantasy football teams, too?

It's time to start saving up again for Monday night's best. This means only one game is scheduled.
