The Pete Carroll era of the Seattle Seahawks officially came to an end ahead of the 2024 NFL season, as he shockingly stepped down from his post as head coach and assumed another role with the team.
As a result of Carroll deciding to step away, the team hired Mike Macdonald, who became the youngest head coach in the NFL at 36 years old, which is an interesting choice considering his predecessor was one of the oldest coaches in the league.
Even though the Seahawks have moved on with Macdonald as the new leader on the sideline, the team really hasn’t missed a beat, with the Seahawks losing their first game of the season in Week 4 in a shootout with the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.
Before losing to Jared Goff and the Lions on Monday night, the Seahawks had won three straight games, with wins over the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.
Following the loss to the Lions, the Seahawks decided to make a move on Tuesday by signing a notable player in veteran tackle Jason Peters, to the team’s practice squad, according to the franchise’s X account.

He played eight games for the Seahawks last season and clearly left an impression, even though he’s not the same player he was when he was a dominant force for the Philadelphia Eagles in his prime.
In Week 5, the Seahawks will have an ideal opportunity to bounce back with a vengeance as they’ll play host to the lowly New York Giants at Lumen Field.
