The Los Angeles Lakers are on the cusp of making NBA history after the team selected Bronny James with their second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
It means LeBron James will get a chance to play with his son at the professional level, which will be the first time a father-son duo has done so in the NBA.
With training camp underway ahead of the start of the NBA preseason, the Lakers’ players and new coaching staff have gotten a chance to watch LeBron James and his son in scrimmages, which seems to have had a profound impact on the superstar.
Following a recent practice, Anthony Davis revealed what it has been like to see the historic pairing in action.
“I’m just honored to be here witnessing it … to me, it just means the world to LeBron. It’s a different level of joy,” Davis said, via Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
AD said Bronny hit a 3 over LeBron today, much to the delight of their teammates, and LeBron went down and bullied somebody else on the next possession.

Although this is a historic time for the Lakers, with the first father-son duo expected to debut at some point during the 2024-25 regular season, it remains to be seen what the team can do during the full campaign.
The Lakers’ brass is coming off a rough offseason, as the team was unable to make any substantial moves in free agency or through trades, which didn’t sit well with the avid fanbase.
