According to his longtime Irish music manager, Paul Charles, word has surfaced on the cobbled streets that Tom Waits is writing again.
The news comes via Charles’ new memoir — though in irish examiner – where he reflects on his time working with Waits, Van Morrison and Richard Branson. In particular, while sharing the news, Charles recalled the last show Weitz did in 2008 at a tent venue in Dublin called Rat Cellar.
“We all want him to tour again. He’s home after three nights in the rat cellar,” Charles wrote. “He loved the tour so much that he had the idea to start writing. He did some recordings, and then he basically got distracted by the film world for a while. The news is that he’s writing again. We’re all praying for another visit.” Waits’ Representative did not provide additional information or comment when contacted result.
From 2008 to the present, Waits’ cinematic distractions include Book of Eli, song of buster scruggsand Licorice Pizza, to name a few.He also spoke to The Simpsons And AMC+ doll series Ultra City Smith.
His last studio album, as bad as medebuted in 2011. Most recently, his debut album, 1973’s Closing timeCelebrates its 50th anniversary with a vinyl reissue in 45 rpm black and clear versions.
