The 2022-23 NBA season was a forgettable one for veteran guard Patrick Beverley, who started with the Los Angeles Lakers and ended up with the Chicago Bulls.

Ahead of the season, the Lakers traded for Beverley to add some much-needed defense to the backcourt alongside superstar guard Russell Westbrook.

Unfortunately, the backcourt pairing didn’t work out as planned, with both players ending up getting traded ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February.

Beverley ultimately landed with his hometown Bulls, who couldn’t make it out of the Play-in Tournament, leaving the veteran’s future hanging in the balance heading into the NBA offseason.

On his podcast, Beverley dropped a major hint about his immediate future, as he let it be known that there’s a real chance he heads back to the Houston Rockets via NBA Central.

The Rockets ended the season with high hopes of getting a high pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but the team fell short in the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes, with the team ending up with the No. 4 overall pick.

Despite falling short of being able to land Wembanyama, who likely ends up with the San Antonio Spurs at No. 1, the team was able to make a substantial hire by bringing in Ime Udoka to be the team’s new head coach.

Along with Udoka, all signs point to superstar guard James Harden returning to the team in NBA free agency, and that would mean Beverley could be his running mate in the backcourt in Houston, even if it is in a limited role off the bench.
