The 2022-23 NBA season is officially over for the Los Angeles Lakers, with the Denver Nuggets getting the best of the purple and gold in the Western Conference Finals by pulling off the sweep.

With the offseason now underway for the Lakers, speculation and rumors have started circulating about the team’s intentions heading into the summer.

Along with the constant buzz swirling around the Lakers organization, it has come to light that superstar forward LeBron James played for months with a torn tendon in his foot, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic via Ball is Life.

Shortly after the Nuggets eliminated the Lakers earlier this week, James made some comments about his immediate future in the NBA, which went viral immediately.

James admitted that this summer, he will consider ending his playing career, which has now spanned over two decades.

Before Game 4 against the Nuggets, James’ close friend and former teammate Carmelo Anthony officially retired from the NBA earlier in the day.

Anthony’s retirement announcement may have contributed to James considering walking away from the game, even though he has said repeatedly that he’s determined to play with his son Bronny James once he’s in the NBA.

With Bronny James recently committing to USC, the son of the NBA superstar will stay local and will likely only play one year before jumping to the professional level if all goes well for the promising young star.

As for LeBron, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s serious about retirement and has abandoned his plans to play with his son, with this injury potentially playing a part in his decision.
