The Milwaukee Bucks have put themselves in an interesting spot this offseason.

After making a bold decision by firing championship head coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks needed a new coach.

It appears they have found their man in Toronto Raptors’ assistant Adrian Griffin.

According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are planning on hiring Griffin.

This was a surprising move as Griffin has no previous head coaching experience.

The Bucks are a win-now team that has a roster capable of competing for a championship.

Budenholzer led the Bucks to the championship in 2021, so the expectations will be sky-high for Griffin.

Anything less than a trip to the NBA Finals in his first year will be a disappointment.

We have seen that a great head coach can do wonders in the NBA.

Looking at the Miami Heat, their coach (Erik Spoelstra) is a big reason why they are in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Griffin has been an assistant coach in the NBA for 15 seasons.

His first NBA assistant coaching job was with the Bucks back in 2008-09.

So he has some experience coaching in the city.

He also spent nine seasons in the NBA as a player.

Some teams like to hire former players as head coaches.

That had to be a factor when the Bucks were making their decision.

It will be interesting to see how Griffin does in his first year as a head coach.

The hope from the Bucks is that Griffin will be the man to lead them back to the NBA Finals.
