Armie Hammer Sexual Assault Case Dropped by LA Prosecutors

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will not file sexual assault charges against Armie Hammer following a two-year investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

In a statement (by type), the district attorney’s office explained that because of the “complex relationship” between Hammer and his accuser, it could not prove the sexual assault allegation beyond a reasonable doubt.

“In this case, those prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review but determined that there is currently insufficient evidence to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime,” the prosecutor’s office said. “As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to prosecute only cases that we can go beyond a reasonable doubt…Due to the complexity of this relationship and the inability to prove non-consensual, coerced sexual contact, we cannot prove cases beyond a reasonable doubt.” Reasonable suspicion. “

In March 2021, a woman who identified herself as Effie came forward, accusing Hammer of physically abusing her during her four-year on-and-off relationship and claiming the actor violently raped her in 2017.

At the time, Hamer vehemently denied the allegations, saying his relationships with Effie and other women who had previously surfaced on social media were “entirely consensual” and “mutually involved.” In an interview earlier this year, he maintained that stance but admitted to having suffered emotional abuse.

Hammer was the subject of a documentary called “Trilogy” last year Hammer Housedug deep into multiple allegations of abuse and exposed his family history.
