The Detroit Pistons just offered Monty Williams a boatload of money to become their new head coach.

Inside reporting says that Williams could be making up to $100 million to lead this troubled, young team.

But they might not be troubled much longer, according to some.

NBA analyst Bobby Marks made a list of all the great things that the Pistons have working in their favor.

With Williams in charge, the Pistons have multiple draft picks, more than $30 million in cap space flexibility, high-value contracts with Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, young talents like Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey, as well as other supporting stars such as Killian Hayes, Jalen Duren, and James Wiseman.

Is this enough to turn into a legitimate threat in the East?

The Pistons finished dead last in their conference in 2022-23, with a terrible record of 17-65.

In fact, many people predicted they had the best chance of landing incoming phenom Victor Wembanyama with the number one draft pick.

Instead, they scored the fifth pick but there is still reason to believe they are headed in the right direction.

Williams will have a group of young men who are eager to finally prove themselves.

It’ll be interesting to see how he works with Cunningham, the former No. 1 overall draft pick who missed all but 12 games this season due to an injury.

He has never been able to have an impact on the league like he has wanted so Williams will try to change that.

The task at hand is large and daunting but Williams has shown he is a determined and smart coach who can turn a struggling team into true contenders.

He has the pieces necessary for greatness, but will Williams make it happen?
