In the spirit of his ongoing Math Tour, Ed Sheeran is serving up some Philly cheesesteaks in between shows during his weekend trip to Philadelphia, combining his big stadium dates with intimate city-specific Theater performances combined.
In an effort to keep him neutral in the longstanding local rivalry between Geno’s and Pat’s, Sheeran opted to join South Philly’s SQ Philip’s Steaks on Saturdays for a surprise afternoon class, where the “Shape of You” singer is led by brothers Our professors-owners Joseph and Philip Baldino talk about melted Cheez Whiz, the virtues of “slabs,” and the difference between “wit” and “witout.”
Sheeran posted a questionnaire on his Instagram Story asking for the “best” cheesesteak in the city, then gave Philip an address and promised “I’m going to have a cheesesteak today,” and the crowd gathered.He later posted a review At the start of his visit, Sheeran announced, “Philadelphia, apparently it’s cheesesteak time.”
Despite the praise from the Baldino brothers and his first sandwich being aptly described by fans as “perfect,” Sheeran remained humble, noting that he only did half the work because he didn’t have to worry about taking money from customers. Watch a clip of Ed Sheeran as a cheesesteak chef below.
Later, Sheeran donned a Donovan McNabb Philadelphia Eagles jersey during the home show at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the NFL team, showing that he was truly ready to embrace the City of Brotherly Love.
Apparently, Sheeran is making the most of the “math tour,” his first tour of the United States in five years. With the support of Khalid, Russ, Ben Kweller and others, the trek will continue until late September.check ticket here.
In May, Sheeran won a lengthy copyright battle for his 2014 hit “Think Out Loud.” Elsewhere, he shared his love of country music thanks to Taylor Swift and hip-hop, and credited Eminem for helping heal his childhood stutter.
