Walt Disney Studios president Sean Bailey confirmed the news in an interview over the weekend New York Times.
Trick 2, a reunion of the Sanderson sisters Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy from the original 1993 film, was released on Disney+ last year. The sequel then broke the record for total minutes watched on a streaming movie opening weekend, and ultimately proved to be the fifth-biggest streaming movie of 2022, with 5.7 billion total minutes watched.
Midler previously expressed interest in returning for a third time trick Movie. “I’d love to own a franchise — especially a character I love to play,” she told Entertainment Weekly last year. “If there was a third, of course I’d sign up, but I don’t know how. I can’t imagine the story, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary and our relationship. It’s good for women. We’re in this together, but We do cause chaos, and there are not many women who cause that much chaos.”
Meanwhile, Parker mocked Hocus Pocus 3 is animated. “That would be cool and a smart idea. It’s fun, entertaining, and potentially fun and creative, like old fashioned or new (animated),” she told electronic warfare“Of course, I’d love to have a conversation (for the third movie) — it depends on what Casey and Bette want!”
