It’s not a secret that LeBron James has been the most prominent name behind the NBA’s player empowerment era.
James has pulled the strings to team up with other stars and role players multiple times throughout his career, and he might now be on the other end of a similar move.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kyrie Irving has reportedly reached out to LeBron to discuss the possibility of teaming up again.
However, it wouldn’t be on the Los Angeles Lakers, but with the Dallas Mavericks instead.
Sources: Kyrie Irving has reached out to Lakers star LeBron James in attempts to see if James would come to Dallas. Irving is a free agent this offseason.

Of course, it seems highly unlikely that James will leave the Lakers right now.
He plays in arguably the biggest sports market in the league, and he’s already established his camp and business there, not to mention his family isn’t likely to relocate either.
Bronny just committed to play at USC, and it’s not like the Lakers should have any incentive to trade him to the Mavericks unless they get Luka Doncic in return, which is obviously not happening.
The prospect of having Doncic, Kyrie, and LeBron on the same team would be mouth-watering for Mark Cuban, and he may not hesitate to offer every future asset in his power to get it done.
Even so, there are just too many hurdles to get past for this to even become a possibility, so fans in Dallas may not want to get their hopes up.
