Trump lawyers quit classified documents case

Two attorneys representing former President Donald Trump, months before he was charged with federal charges for handling classified documents, resigned from working for him Friday morning.

Attorneys Jim Trusty and John Rowley did not elaborate on why they resigned, saying only that “it was a logical moment” given the indictment against him in U.S. District Court in Miami on Thursday .

Trump first announced in his Truth Social social media post that the lawyer was no longer representing him.

Trump said he will now be represented by New York attorney Todd Branch, who is already representing him in another criminal case in Manhattan Supreme Court. Trump was charged in a state grand jury indictment with falsifying business records related to hush money payments to the pornographic Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
