But William Contreras tied it 1-1 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, pinching a home run to A’s left-hander Richard Loveledy’s straight center field. Contreras’ home run was estimated at 440 feet.

Shintaro Fujinami (3-6) took the win in a scoreless ninth inning. The Payamps fell to 2-1 on the season with the loss.
