Three people have been found dead in the central English city of Nottingham and a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a van tried to run over three others, police said.
Police said they were alerted to another incident not far away after a van tried to Crush three people.
They are being treated in hospital.
Another man was found dead on another road outside the city centre.
“This was a horrific and tragic incident that claimed the lives of three people,” Sheriff Kate Meynell said.
“We believe all three incidents are linked and we have a man in custody. The investigation is at an early stage and a team of detectives are working to establish what exactly happened.”
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.
Several roads have been closed and the local tram network is suspended in Nottingham while police are responding to the incident.
