Jason Bateman to direct and star in eight-episode 2021 adaptation of David Gauvey Herbert gentleman feature “Daddy Ball,” deadline report. The series will stream on Netflix.
Netflix and Bateman’s production company, Aggregate, won the rights to the story in a bidding war that saw eight offers. The series will be titled differently than “Daddy Ball,” but will be based on Herbert’s story about the father of the Long Island Hells youth baseball team who are embroiled in a generational feud.
Bateman, Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodrigue will serve as co-executive producers on the series, which has been described as a dark comedy, while David Klawans will also serve as producer.
