“Taco Tuesday” is a favorite amongst many people around the world.

Even in the sports world, the feeling is mutual.

It is a well-known celebration of tacos being served and everybody getting a chance to enjoy it.

However, Tampa Bay Rays broadcaster Andy Freed made a questionable choice for this most recent Taco Tuesday.

During the Rays game against the Oakland Athletics, field reporter Tricia Whitaker called out Freed for putting ketchup on his tacos and grossing out everyone else in the room.

Freed admitted to doing this and professed his love for ketchup on tacos.

The video featuring the lighthearted exchange can be found in the tweet below.

Ketchup on tacos?

That’s a new one for sure.

Freed and fellow announcer Brian Anderson both discussed the “ketchup on tacos” fiasco and likened it to something that star NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes might do for his own Taco Tuesday.

But Whitaker made sure to expose Freed for his decision to put ketchup on his tacos instead of salsa.

It’s certainly an interesting choice by Freed, but to each their own.

However fans, players, reporters, or even broadcasters want to enjoy their tacos, they can.

Either way, the Rays announcers shared a good laugh over Freed’s questionable food choice on Tuesday, and Freed even admitted to grossing out everybody else around him with his unique way of celebrating.

Even in baseball among the announcers, it’s a popular day of the week and one that should be celebrated.
