Lou Williams has retired from the NBA after 17 seasons in the league.
The veteran guard had a remarkable career coming off the bench, becoming one of the best sixth men in NBA history.
Stats show that Williams was so much more than a regular bench player.
He put up big numbers during his long NBA stint, setting records that will probably never be broken.

These stats show that Williams was a special player. He was a perfect leader for the second unit of all his teams.
He played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Clippers before arriving in Atlanta to join the Hawks.
Williams had his best season with the Clippers, averaging 22.6 points per game and winning his third and final Sixth Man of the Year award.
He spent his final two seasons playing for the Hawks and became a mentor for the young players.
Williams was a part of that team that shocked many people in the 2021 playoffs and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Before retiring from the league, he saw action in 56 games during the 2021-22 NBA season, putting up 6.3 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game.
He’s tied with Jamal Crawford for the most sixth-man award’s, with 3.
