President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to two federal judges offense A court filing on Tuesday revealed the willful failure to pay federal income taxes.
According to documents filed by U.S. District Attorneys in Delaware, Hunter Biden also agreed to a so-called pretrial diversion agreement on charges of illegal drug use or gun possession by drug users.
Typically, such agreements require the dismissal of criminal charges if the defendant complies with the terms of the deal within a specified time period.
NBC News, citing two sources familiar with Hunter’s plea agreement, said U.S. Attorney David Weiss of Delaware agreed to recommend to the judge that Hunter be sentenced to probation for tax crimes.
Weiss was appointed by then-President Donald Trump and allowed to remain in the post after Joe Biden was elected to continue the investigation into Biden’s son.
Weiss has filed two charging documents, called information, against Hunter, one for tax crimes and one for firearms charges. Prosecutors often use information to charge defendants who agree to plead guilty.
A prosecutor in Weiss’ office wrote to the Delaware federal court clerk that a memo summarizing the terms of Hunter’s plea agreement and details of the pretrial transfer deal will be available when he appears in court for his plea hearing. Public submission.
Hunter Biden, who has battled substance abuse for years, pays in 2022 the federal income taxes he previously failed to pay in 2017 and 2018.

Trump, who was indicted on more than three federal charges earlier this month for allegedly illegally retaining classified documents after leaving the White House, blasted Hunter’s plea deal in a post on his Truth Social website.
“Wow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just settled hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a ‘traffic ticket,'” Trump wrote. “Our system is broken!”
