The last half-decade has not been kind to two of the NBA‘s biggest superstars in Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook, with both players struggling to find long-term homes in the league, while fighting the fans and the media through their struggles.

Irving and Westbrook have bounced around the league for years, with neither player finding the same kind of success they had with the teams that drafted them nor getting the respect they deserve for what they’ve accomplished in their careers up to this point.

One fellow superstar that recognizes what these two future Hall-of-Famers have been and the disrespect they’ve endured is Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns.

Durant played alongside both of these superstars at different parts of his career, knows them inside and out, and still respects them despite having some rocky times with both outspoken players.

SportsCenter shared a tweet from Durant in which he shared praise for both stars.

Saying that Irving and Westbrook inspired a whole generation might be a bit strong by Durant, but there’s no doubt these two superstars have left their impact on the league and its fans over the years.

Unfortunately for both players, the future remains uncertain, as they’ll be free agents this summer with no clear indication of where either player may end up.

The consensus as of right now is that the Los Angeles Clippers could bring back Westbrook, and the same goes for Irving with the Dallas Mavericks.

However, nothing has been predictable regarding Irving and Westbrook, meaning anything can happen this summer as they try to figure out the next chapter in their Hall-of-Fame-caliber careers.
