After over two decades of despair and disappointment, the Washington Commanders finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, with the storied NFL franchise finally getting to move on from longtime owner Daniel Snyder.

With the dark shadow of Snyder’s reign soon to be over, the team can focus on getting it right on the football field, as a potentially bright future may be ahead of the franchise.

One move during the NFL offseason to help take that step in the right direction for the Commanders was bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to help head coach Ron Rivera right the ship.

Although it’s not the head coaching gig he was hoping for when leaving Kansas City, Bieniemy is thrilled to be in Washington to call the shots on the sideline with Rivera, as it has admittedly given him a new outlook via John Keim of ESPN.

“I’m fired up and excited. It’s given me a whole new outlook,” Bieniemy said.

It will be an interesting season, to say the least, for the Commanders as the team transitions ownership next month and tries to put a winning product on the field in Washington.

Landing Bieniemy was huge and should help the team offensively, especially in hopes of Sam Howell becoming the real deal under center, but it remains to be seen if his presence alone will be enough to be playoff bound in 2023.

It will likely take some time for Washington to see some success, as more talent is needed on both sides of the football to get the job done.
