Jason Scott Lee delves into his latest film with Kyle Meredith, wind and reckoning. This groundbreaking film not only marked the first international release of a film told entirely in the native Hawaiian language, but also shed light on the war crimes committed by white settlers against native Hawaiians in the late 1800s. The actor spoke about Hawaii and the Hawaiian language is often not portrayed properly in movies.

“A lot of stories written in Hawaiian are not done right,” he explained. “I don’t think people realize that Hawaii used to be an independent country that was recognized by many international countries and had its own monarchy—I think it’s the only state in the United States that did that. So, about this little country in the middle of the Pacific, There’s a lot of history that hasn’t been told, there’s a lot of education that hasn’t caught up.”

During the conversation, Lee discussed his commitment to portraying diverse cultures throughout his acting career.Judging from his role jungle book and Rapa Nui go to disney Mulan and Dougie Camera, MDLee shared his experience of telling stories of different cultures through film.
