Last Friday, NBA free agency officially got underway, with a flurry of moves taking place and tons of contracts being agreed to with players staying with their current squads or heading elsewhere.

As usual, free agency was entertaining for NBA fans, with there being no shortage of deals agreed to early on in the process.

Along with some notable players changing teams, like Fred VanVleet, Dillon Brooks, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Donte DiVincenzo, quite a few players re-signed with their teams, and some of those players signed massive contracts.

Many of those massive contracts signed came from players that were taken in the 2020 NBA Draft, with Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball leading the way.

Those contracts for the 2020 draft class almost reached $1 billion, according to StatMuse.

On Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves made sure to secure the long-term future for Edwards, who has become a legitimate star on the rise in this league, inking him to a five-year deal worth $260 million.

The Charlotte Hornets did the same with Ball, as the All-Star guard has proven his worth to the franchise over the last few years despite battling a number of injuries.

Perhaps the most surprising player getting extended to a massive deal was Desmond Bane signing a long-term deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Even though Bane is talented, he’s now getting paid quite a lot for a player that hasn’t accomplished much in his career thus far.

Tyrese Haliburton is another 2020 product that cashed in, with the Indiana Pacers making sure their new face of the franchise was taken care of.
