The quarterback position in the NFL is as talented as ever, with some incredibly gifted players under center gearing up for training camp and what will likely be a highly competitive 2023 NFL season.

With training camps for all 32 teams set to get underway soon, the media is starting to put together lists of the best players at key positions like quarterback.

As usual, these lists can come with a fair amount of controversy and debate, with few lists being the same, usually done to strike up a debate or cause a stir on social media.

However, few pundits argue that Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is still the best quarterback in the league, as he is sitting atop the mountain again after winning his second Super Bowl title under head coach Andy Reid.

According to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league right now, followed by four talented others, three of which are in the AFC, via NFL on ESPN.

At this point, the real debate about the league’s top quarterbacks seems to start at the No. 2 spot underneath Mahomes and seems to vary among the opinions of many.

Although Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills has been compared to Mahomes more than any other player in the league, Cincinnati Bengals superstar Joe Burrow seems to be right around the corner and ready to make his mark either this year or in the near future.

After that, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles needs to prove last season was no fluke, and the same goes for Jacksonville Jaguars up-and-comer Trevor Lawrence.
