Adam Wainwright has always been a man of the people.

The St. Louis Cardinals legend and two-time World Series champion is currently on the 15-day injured list, but is still a very influential voice in the team’s clubhouse.

He also helped start a fun trend this year.

The team uses a hamburger phone to predict when players hit home runs.

On Sunday, a young girl brought her own burger phone to the ballpark.

Wainwright caught wind of this and pretended to have a phone call with the young fan.

The Cardinals posted photos of the two sharing a special moment on Twitter.

Wainwright has been a fan favorite ever since he closed out the 2006 NLCS and World Series and became a staple in Cardinals history.

But in addition to his heroics, the veteran right-hander has always been one to interact with his fans and have a little fun with them.

One would certainly imagine that this young girl’s day was made when she saw Wainwright pretending to call her on the burger phone and have a nice conversation with her.

Wainwright has been known to provide some day-making moments for his fans over the years, both on and off the mound.

This moment was certainly no different.

The burger phones were certainly put to good use on Sunday.

They also came in handy, as Nolan Gorman hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Cardinals pulled away with an 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals.
