There have been a few athletes in recent memory that have made a massive impact on their respective sports.

Steph Curry has transformed the game of basketball, taking shots from just about anywhere on the court.

This has inspired a new generation of basketball players, as the three-point shot continues to be a larger part of the game.

Travis Kelce has brought a similar impact to the Kansas City Chiefs with the way that he attacks the tight end position.

He is quickly clawing away at long-standing records, and many believe he’s one of the best tight ends in league history.

In a recent segment of Pardon My Take, Greg Olsen went on to say “I think he’s this close” to being the best tight end of all time.

He went on to discuss his amazement at Kelce’s career, saying, “I never in a million years would have thought anyone would catch Gonzalez.”

Olsen is referring to Tony Gonzalez, a former Chiefs legend in his own right.

Gonzalez finished his career with 15,127 total receiving yards, a long-standing record.

However, Kelce currently sits at 10,344 yards, 4,783 shy of Gonzalez.

If he can play for a few more seasons, as Olsen points out, he could pass Gonzalez, at least in his mind.

Whether Gonzalez’s receiving yards total is within reach remains to be seen.

But, Kelce has completely transformed the position, even helping with Tight End University, a camp dedicated to helping players grow in their role.

Will he stand atop the record books when all is said and done?
