Analyst Believes DeAndre Hopkins Made Right Decision By Joining Titans

Veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will be joining the Tennessee Titans this coming season after reportedly agreeing to a two-year contract with them that is worth $26 million plus incentives.

He will give them some much-needed firepower in their passing game and perhaps even help them contend for a playoff spot this fall and winter.

Former NFL linebacker and current analyst Emmanuel Acho believes the Titans’ pressing need for production in the passing game is why Hopkins chose the right team, as opposed to him joining a contending team such as the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills.

The Titans went just 7-10 last season and missed the playoffs despite a strong bounce-back season from star running back Derrick Henry, and they ended up finishing 28th in passing touchdowns and 30th in passing yards.

Their most productive wide receiver in 2022 was Robert Woods, who had a mere 527 yards.

At age 31, Hopkins may be a bit diminished compared to a few years ago when he made the Pro Bowl five times in six years and was selected to the All-Pro First-Team three straight times, but he is still a bona fide threat through the air.

Despite playing just nine games in 2022, he managed to put up 717 yards, and just two seasons prior to that, he had 1,407 yards.

Hopkins should also make life easier on quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who was benched at one point last season and seems to have a tenuous hold on the starting QB spot.

Some believe draft pick Will Levis is on his way to claiming that spot from Tannehill, who is about to turn 35.
