Wednesday Guitarist MJ Lenderman’s “Rudolph”: Stream

On Wednesday, guitarist MJ Lenderman returned with a new solo track titled “Rudolph,” his debut on ANTI-label. Listen to the track below.

“Rudolph” is accompanied by heavy drum beats and a stomp of melodic pedal steel before Lenderman embarks on a perfectly fuzzy guitar solo. “Rudolph wakes up on the road / Dew drips from his red nose / Blue and black tire tracks tear / Through a beautiful doe,” the original lyrics go, but the core of the song comes later Emerges, as the artist croons, “I wouldn’t go to seminary if I could be with you.”

“‘Rudolph’ was the first song I wrote after ‘Rudolph’ came out boat song,“Landman recalled in a statement. “I have been sitting on the guitar part for a long time, and slowly writing this song in between tours in 2022. I finished the lyrics with a friend late one night after Wednesday’s show in Atlanta. “

Lenderman will be on a series of tours this summer in support of boat song, One of the best albums of 2022. In addition to headlining shows in Nashville, Los Angeles and more, the artist will perform at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and Nelsonville Music Festival in Nelsonville, Ohio.
