LeSean McCoy Says Jets Are ‘Pressured’ To Make A Signing

Earlier this week, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers took a major $35 million pay cut by restructuring his contract, which raised eyebrows across the NFL.

Although the Jets seem to have a puncher’s chance at reaching the Super Bowl, they play in an extremely competitive conference and division, and one more reinforcement would greatly help their chances.

They have a hole at the running back position, where Breece Hall, who was their starter last season, is on the physically unable to perform list.

None of their running backs were exactly productive in 2022, and that’s just one reason why LeSean McCoy says there’s pressure on New York to sign someone.

Jets fans are hoping the team will land Dalvin Cook, who is going to visit the team this weekend and has said there’s a good chance he will sign with it.

If Cook does join the Jets, he could help tip the balance of power in the division and perhaps even the conference more in their favor, as he would give them someone who has made the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons.

McCoy mentioned that if Cook says no, Leonard Fournette, formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, would be a nice option.

Fournette may not be as productive as Cook, but he does have a Super Bowl championship ring, something the Jets haven’t earned since the 1968 season.

McCoy also mentioned Kareem Hunt as an option — Hunt recently left the Cleveland Browns, and although he may not be as explosive as he once was, one should remember he did lead the NFL in rushing yards as a rookie.
