A few years ago, the Los Angeles Clippers formed what many believed to be a super team, with the struggling NBA franchise bringing in superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Even though the Clippers had brought in arguably the best two-way players in the game, Los Angeles has not been able to stay healthy since these major acquisitions, as both players have dealt with numerous injuries since suiting up for team owner Steve Ballmer.

Right now, the moves to bring in Leonard and George seem like a failure, as neither player has proven to be dependable as they’re frequently seen sitting on the sideline in street clothes.

Although the dynamic duo for the Clippers has been disappointing, NBA legend Jerry West, who helped the franchise form this super team, has come to Leonard’s defense.

During a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, West gives Leonard credit, as he believes the veteran forward doesn’t get the respect he deserves because he’s injured so frequently via ClutchPoints.

West isn’t wrong, as Leonard has accomplished quite a bit during his NBA career, even though he will likely be considered one of the big “what if” stories in the history of the league due to all the injuries he’s dealt with.

Fortunately for Leonard, there is still time to turn things around in Los Angeles, as the Clippers will have a solid squad coming into the 2023-24 NBA season.

The Clippers will have Leonard, George, and Russell Westbrook leading the way and may even have James Harden in the mix if that trade comes to fruition, which means it could be a big year for Los Angeles.
