SRINAGAR: Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir detained a well-known drug peddler under the PIT NDPS Act, displaying a strong stance against drug dealers and peddlers and their detrimental impact on society.
The accused, Mukhtar Ahmad Rather, son of Gh Ahmad Rather and a resident of Hari Parigam Awantipora, had a history of involvement in four cases registered under the NDPS Act.
His activities led to his inclusion under the provisions of the PIT NDPS Act, as conveyed by a police spokesperson in a statement.
It was revealed that this drug peddler was determined to jeopardise the lives and futures of the younger generation by trading drugs.
He targeted teenagers and school-going children, ensnaring them in the web of drug abuse.
Consequently, he has been charged under the PIT NDPS Act.
