Last season, the Buffalo Bills and the entire NFL saw a scary moment unfold during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the regular season, with safety Damar Hamlin suffering cardiac arrest and collapsing on the football field.

The situation got so bad that many believed Hamlin had died on the football field, leading to the NFL canceling the rest of the game and everyone being concerned about the young safety.

It was an incredibly dark moment for the NFL and all of professional sports, for that matter, as things didn’t look good for Hamlin, and it made many start to question the overall safety of the game.

Fortunately for Hamlin, the University of Pittsburgh product was able to make a full recovery, and believe it or not, he’s scheduled to return to the field for the first time since that scary moment on Saturday when the Bills take on the Indianapolis Colts, according to Dov Kleiman.

Hamlin recovering from this on-field incident is incredible in itself after what seemed to be a dire situation in Buffalo, but the fact he has been able to resume his football career and is on the cusp of suiting up again is remarkable.

The consensus seemed to be that Hamlin’s playing career was over, and even if he was able to recover that he’d be too much of a risk for an NFL team to play him.

Fortunately, that wasn’t the case, and his career will resume on Saturday, which will undoubtedly be an emotional moment in the NFL.
