One of the hottest topics in the NBA over the past few years has been star players naming who would be on their list for the best players of all time.
It seems that every day another star of the past or present chimes in on the topic and shares who they believe are the elite of the elite, with soon-to-be Hall of Famer Pau Gasol being the latest to name the 10 players on his list.
According to the LA Times, via NBACentral, Gasol put the following 10 names in no particular order on his list of the best players in NBA history, in his opinion.

Dirk Nowitzki
Kevin Garnett
Tim Duncan
Kobe Bryant
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Magic Johnson
Bill Russell
Kareem Adbul-Jabbar

Unsurprisingly, quite a few players from the Los Angeles Lakers made Gasol’s list, with four of the 10 players on his list wearing the purple and gold at some point or during their most of their NBA career.
After winning two titles playing alongside him and creating a lasting bond with the superstar guard, Kobe Bryant made Gasol’s list.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson ,and LeBron James making the list is also a no-brainer, as they aren’t just Lakers legends but defined the eras they played in.
Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki might be the only surprise, as he doesn’t tend to make a lot of these lists, with only one title during his time in the league.
However, Nowitzki is widely considered to be one of the best international players of all time along with Gasol, and the two will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame together this weekend, so he’s got a soft spot for the former Mavericks superstar.
