The San Francisco 49ers seem to have struck gold last season in the most unusual way possible, as it appears they have found their franchise quarterback after seeing the two quarterbacks before him on the depth chart go down with season-ending injuries.
Brock Purdy got a movie-like opportunity in the NFL after Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo went down last season, and he made the best of his chance to shine by leading the team to the NFC Championship Game before going down with an injury on the first drive.
With Purdy fully healed from the injury he sustained last season, the 49ers are still confident he’s the right man for the job under center, with some believing he can be the key to this team winning it all during this upcoming 2023 NFL season.
Former 49ers head coach turned NFL analyst Steve Mariucci recently made an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” to talk about his old team and thinks Purdy can lead this team to a title if he is able to have a repeat performance.

Mariucci may be a little bit biased with his connection to the 49ers, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s wrong, as this 49ers team is stacked on both sides of the football, with only the quarterback position being the major question mark.
So far, Purdy has looked on point during the NFL preseason and has gotten some high praise in training camp, but it remains to be seen if that will carry over to the regular season.
