Earlier this week, the Indianapolis Colts officially granted star running back Jonathan Taylor and his representation permission to seek a trade, which is an entirely different stance from what the team recently had after team owner Jim Irsay was adamant about not trading him.
Regardless of Irsay’s comments recently, the Colts and Taylor appear to be headed toward a parting of ways, with teams ready to send Indianapolis trade packages for arguably one of the NFL’s best running backs.
According to Stephen Holder of ESPN via Yahoo Sports, Taylor was given a deadline of August 29 to find a suitable trade, with as many as six teams showing interest and two of these teams already making a trade offer.

The real question now is whether the Colts will be interested in the trade offers that are coming in and if counters will be made to try to get a deal done before the 29th.
Once the team approved Taylor’s trade request, the Miami Dolphins became the favorite to land him in a trade, as they’ve been looking for a star running back throughout the NFL offseason and just missed out on Dalvin Cook, who chose to sign with the New York Jets.
As for the six teams interested, it’s anyone’s guess as they haven’t been disclosed as of yet, but that could change quickly once the offers start pouring in.
It’ll be interesting to see what these teams are offering and whether a deal can get done before the team’s deadline.
