Throughout the first six weeks of the 2023 NFL season, the Detroit Lions looked like one of the best all-around teams in the league and were finally ready to take control of the NFC North division, with Jared Goff and company firing on all cylinders.

Unfortunately for Dan Campbell’s squad, the team was humbled in Week 7 against a very good Baltimore Ravens squad that easily wiped the floor with them.

Superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson had one of his best performances of the season, as he racked up nearly 400 all-purpose yards while also scoring four touchdowns on Sunday.

After the Lions’ worst defeat of the season thus far, Campbell addressed the media and admitted the Lions were outplayed in every way possible in Week 7 on the road via Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

“They kicked our a**,” Campbell said.

Campbell emphasized how good Jackson was on Sunday, as he beat the team both with his arm, throwing for three touchdowns and over 350 yards, and rushing by scoring once with his legs.

With no clear favorite for NFL MVP at this point, Jackson may have taken a step closer to being a legitimate candidate for the award, as he definitely put on a show against the Lions, who are a very good team on both sides of the football.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens after this game and if the Lions can bounce back quickly because they have a fairly easy schedule moving forward.

This could also indicate that the Lions might not be as good as people think, as they’ve really only played a handful of good teams thus far and struggled when playing playoff-caliber teams thus far.
