With the 2023-24 NBA season just getting underway, all the discussions around the league are about who will be the best team and who is in the running for NBA MVP.

Obviously, it’s way too early to get a feel for these two things, as that picture won’t become clear until at least a few months into the season, but that doesn’t stop media and former players from chiming in on the subject on a daily basis.

With two days of games into the season, there have been some players in particular that have stood out and look like they could be in for a successful season for their team and individually.

The recently retired Andre Iguodala chose to give his two cents on the subject on Twitter yesterday, as he believes everyone needs to keep their eyes on Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker when it comes to the race for this season’s NBA MVP.

Booker made an impression right out of the gate for the Suns, leading his team to victory on the road in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.

Even though it was a very competitive game that came down to the wire, Booker showed that he might be able to play a little point guard this season while also putting up the points, as he finished with 32 points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

On the other hand, Tatum also led his team to a win in Boston’s season opener against the New York Knicks, as he put up 34 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals for the Celtics.

Both players will likely continue to produce like this on a nightly basis, which will certainly make things interesting in the MVP race down the road.
