Marcus Smart Sends Clear Message After Another Grizzlies Loss

The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t gotten off to the start of the season they wanted.

Taylor Jenkins’ team has yet to win a game this season after four tries, and the fans are starting to lose their patience.

That’s why newcomer Marcus Smart took a leap forward and stepped up on social media to let the fans know that they’re right on track and getting better with every game, asking them to just bear with them.

In reality, the Grizzlies have been much better than one could tell by their 0-4 record.

Outside of the loss to the Dallas Mavericks, they’ve lost all games by fewer than 10 points, and they’ve been in a position to win most of them.

Also, with no Ja Morant, no Brandon Clarke, no Steven Adams, and Dillon Brooks now with a different team, Jenkins has had to compete down four key rotation players from the past couple of years, so that’s an encouraging sign for the future.

Morant will be out for at least another 21 games while he continues to serve a suspension for multiple gun-related incidents.

It’s hard not to blame him for the team’s current situation, as he had already served a lesser suspension and even underwent a counseling program to get better coping skills before his second infraction.

There’s still plenty of time to right the ship and get back to their usual winning ways, but for now, the rest of the team will just have to step up and hold down the fort until their superstar is able to come back.
