Patrick Mahomes had been perfect against the Denver Broncos, but that streak ended when he and the Kansas City Chiefs were upset in Week 8.

It was a disappointing performance for the Chiefs, who surprisingly struggled against the Broncos.

Mahomes reportedly dealt with the flu and came into the game as questionable, but was able to tough it out during the afternoon.

However, he and the team might be regretting the decision as Mahomes had his worst game of the season.

The All-Pro quarterback threw for 241 yards but had zero touchdown passes and was picked off twice.

It was an uncharacteristic showing from Mahomes but Chris Broussard is not worried the least bit about him going forward, via FOX Sports Radio.

“I still think he is the best QB I’ve ever seen. He’s not the GOAT but can become the GOAT. I’m not discouraged in the least bit,” Broussard said.

One bad performance shouldn’t be used against Mahomes and there are signs that he can still improve as a quarterback.

During the 2023 NFL season, Mahomes has had to deal with an inconsistent receiving corps and has been forced to rely more on the run game and defense.

To Broussard’s point, Mahomes still has to win more Super Bowls before he can be comfortably called the greatest of all time but with how young he is and how great the team’s looked under Andy Reid he has enough time to get there.

Kansas City has done well responding after losses, so it’ll be interesting to see how they look this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
