Through six games of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors own a 5-1 record and sit atop the Western Conference.

There was talk over the offseason that the Warriors were going to take a step back this year as the rest of the conference improved around them, but the former NBA champions are proving that they’re a force to be reckoned with.

After losing on Opening Night to the Phoenix Suns, Golden State has reeled off five consecutive victories with their most recent win coming against the Oklahoma City Thunder in their first game of group play for the In-Season Tournament.

The Warriors have been their normal selves on both sides of the floor, though the intrigue has been about Chris Paul’s assimilation.

Paul was the team’s major offseason move and so far the veteran has managed to fit right into the Golden State ecosystem.

The future Hall of Fame point guard is off to a strong start to the season as evidenced by his assist-to-turnover ratio via NBA Central.

Paul has always been one of the league’s best playmakers and ballhandlers and so far has looked like a natural fit in the Warriors’ pass-happy offense.

Although he recently was moved to the bench, Paul has remained as effective as ever with the young players on the roster.

Health has always been an issue for Paul as he’s been unable to stay on the floor, but if he’s able to avoid any injuries then he could very well be the difference-maker Golden State was hoping for.
