The Miami Dolphins have been one of the most impressive teams during the 2023 NFL season, but they unfortunately came up short in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Dolphins took on the Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany and it seemed like they left their offense in the States as they failed to move the football very well.

Kansas City has been one of the best defensive units in the league this season and they were able to slow down the electrifying Miami offense with smart defensive coverage and pressure on Tua Tagovailoa.

The loss dropped the Dolphins to 6-3, though they still lead the AFC East for the time being.

However, it was another defeat at the hands of a projected playoff team which has been a theme for Miami since Mike McDaniel took over as head coach.

In fact, according to James Palmer of NFL Network, the Dolphins haven’t beaten a team over .500 since the early part of the 2022 NFL campaign.

It’s a troubling stat to think about considering that Miami regards itself as a Super Bowl contender, and if they’re unable to beat good teams it seriously throws their aspirations in doubt.

McDaniel might have his work cut out for him in trying to figure out a way to remedy the problem, though at least he and the team are still in a good position record-wise.

No one is counting out Miami with a little less than half the regular season to go, but they’ll need to prove that their success doesn’t come against weak teams.
