Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell is one of MLB‘s hottest commodities at the moment.

He has been in front of the Brew Crew since 2015, but might be willing to switch teams under the right circumstances.

The Cleveland Guardians flirted with the chance of bringing him in as their next manager before deciding on Stephen Vogt, and the New York Mets are eager to lure him away from Milwaukee.

Other teams might be interested in him, too, and could be waiting on his decision before pivoting to other alternatives.

That decision is expected to come soon.

Real soon.

“People involved in the process expect Craig Counsell will make a decision today on where to manage,” Mets insider Andy Martino tweeted.

On Monday, Counsell is expected to announce which MLB team he will be managing in 2024 and the future.

The Mets would love to have him on board to be Buck Showalter’s replacement.

New Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns has worked alongside Counsell since 2015 in Milwaukee.

The two know each other very well; and Stearns is familiar with Counsell’s modern way of thinking and his innate ability to communicate and pass knowledge along to his players.

Counsell has the personality to take over a Mets team that disappointed in 2023 and, with the right resources and moves, make them a contender as soon as 2024.

But staying with the Brewers, where he has made the postseason five times and reached as far as the Championship Series in 2018, is also an option.

Stay tuned.
