Trae Young and his Atlanta Hawks took a trip to Mexico City on Thursday night and they definitely enjoyed their stay there.

The Hawks took care of the Orlando Magic in a rousing, fun game that featured Young putting up 41 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Following the game, Young shared his love and thanks for Mexico.

He tweeted, featuring multiple images of him and a video of the fans enjoying the game.

“Gracias Mexico,” Young said in the tweet.

Thursday’s game was held at the Mexico City Arena.

It was scheduled by the league as a way to reach more fans and spread awareness about the game beyond America and Canada.

It is actually one of many international games planned by the league.

The arena was raucous and filled with fans eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite players.

The Hawks and Magic gave them something to remember with a tight game that ended with a 120-119 win for the Hawks.

That marked Atlanta’s fifth win of the season and they now have a 5-3 record.

Young was remarkable all night long, including in the final seconds when he found Dejounte Murray for a stunning game-winning three-pointer.

The two-time All-Star got particularly red hot during the second quarter.

During that period, he scored 21 of his 41 points.

After a rough season last year, the Hawks are starting out strongly in 2023-24.

They are currently the fourth-best team in the East.

Atlanta is playing much better together under the leadership of head coach Quin Snyder.

Next up for Young and his team are the Miami Heat on Saturday, followed by the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, and Philadelphia 76ers.
